Dear Mr. Pibil: You spelled Takoma Park incorrectly, other than that "good post". I think I like Mr. Thompson, I sure don't like or trust anyone else that is running, but what's new? Where can I quickly go to read and become knowledgeble of Mr. Thompson's position on the issues that manner to an everyday working stiff who is NEVER going to be able to retire with things the way they are. Health insurance costs, credit card interest regulation, tax breaks for the little guy, illegal immigrants and their impact on local and national economy. The war is so far over my head that I wish I could ask an intelligent question, I can't. I guess one of the things that I can't understand is why if Iraq is so rich in oil we can't concentrate on putting that industry "up and running" use some of the interim proceeds to pay for the damn war and them leave the Iraqies (spelled wrong) with an industry that will support all of their different religious groups. Then get out!

Linda Chavez lost monumentally by reminding Marylanders that Paul Sarbanes is a liberal Democrat. Takoma Park (at least learn to spell it correctly - and it's not Tacoma City, either) may not speak for all of Maryland, but it certainly expresses the opinions of a large majority of Marylanders. FWIW, the limo riders in Montgomery County generally are Republicans.

Clinton was impeached for getting a ------------ and lying about it. Why shouldn't Bush and Cheney be impeached for leading the country to war on the backs of lies and deceptions and for attempting to dismantle the rule of law?

If anyone is to be accused of using snazzy cars to get around, it should be Fred Thompson -- notorious for dumping that famous little red truck of his for his expensive sedan once the campaign stop was over.

As for the impeachment resolution, why not? It's our First Amendment right to say what we think and petition Congress about it. Bush and Cheney are -- or should be -- anathema to true conservatives, who value the checks and balances of the Constitution and don't applaud finding more and more ways to sidestep and ignore them. Torture, warrantless electronic surveillance, refusal to honor subpoenas or back up their enforcement: these are the acts of people who think they were elected kings and viceroys for 4 years, not of a president and vice president of a democratic republic.
