Fred Wins Human Events Poll of Conservatives
Oct 31st, 2007 by Ted Pibil
The long-time conservative publication Human Events polled subscribers on who they wanted as their Presidential nominee. This group of conservative readers chose Fred Thompson as their #1 choice:
Human Events’ presidential preference poll of American conservatives found that former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson leads the competition for conservative support with 23% of the participants selecting him over the other candidates. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee tied for second with 19%, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in third at 13% and Arizona Sen. John McCain — in what is probably a direct result of his stance on amnesty for illegal aliens — came in dead last at 2.1%.
Last week, John Hawkins polled conservative webloggers who they wanted as the Republican nominee. The #1 choice was also Fred Thompson.
These two surveys show conservatives embrace Fred’s message. They know he’s a consistent conservative who will fight for lower taxes, smaller more effective government, and a strong national defense. Because of his values and principles Fred is the conservatives’ choice for President.
